Conformity Assessment - Requirements for bodies providing Audit and Certification of Management Systems.

The Accreditation process is designed to ensure that a certification bodies practices are correct and appropriate. This means that they are competent to Asses and certify third parties, act ethically, maintain appropriate processes and procedures and ensure regularity in the manner they deliver assessment and certification. Bodies that perform the accreditation process are called Accreditation Bodies and the bodies that are accredited are referred to as Accredited Certification Bodies.

AIUK operate and provide global accreditation services in compliance with the relevant International, National and European Standards, Regulations, Guidelines and Requirements.

AIUK is subject to periodic third party audits for the purpose of demonstrating such compliance.
AIUK carries out this accreditation work to internationally recognised standards and is also periodically reviewed by its international peers.

AIUK endeavours to operate in a manner relevant to its status as a Global Accreditation Body and will always maintain integrity and impartiality in the way it applies the standards and assessments of compliance to these standards.

AIUK will always:

  • Continually strive to ensure that the fees applied are reasonable and represent good value to our clients.
  • Build and uphold an open exchange of information with other accreditation bodies, certification bodies and the general public on the accreditation service we offer.
  • Seek to continuously improve and develop the services we offer.
  • Communicate these guiding principles to our staff, customers and all interested parties.
